Winter Spiced Digestive Milk

Description

A warm, grounding winter drink designed to support healthy digestion, calm the nervous system, and cultivate a clear, Sattvic state of mind. This blend of milk, digestive spices, and saffron nourishes ojas and balances Vata during the cold, dry months.

Ingredients

• 1 cup whole milk or unsweetened almond milk

• 1 cup water

• 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

• ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

• ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom

• 1–2 strands saffron

• 1 teaspoon raw honey or maple syrup (added after heating)

• Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

1. Combine milk and water in a small pot over medium heat.

2. Add ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, saffron, and black pepper.

3. Bring to a gentle simmer and warm for 5–7 minutes to infuse the spices.

4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

5. Stir in honey or maple syrup once warm, not hot.

6. Serve immediately and sip slowly.
