Brahmi Almond Elixir
Description
A warm, nourishing autumn drink that strengthens ojas, supports mental clarity, and calms the nervous system. Brahmi (Gotu Kola) is a classic Medhya Rasayana—an herb that enhances memory, focus, and steadiness of mind. Combined with almonds, warming spices, and ghee, this elixir is ideal for the cool, dry qualities of fall.
Ingredients
1 cup whole milk or unsweetened almond milk
½ cup water
1 teaspoon Brahmi powder (or 1 tablespoon fresh Brahmi leaves, if available)
4 soaked almonds, peeled
1 teaspoon ghee
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon cardamom
1 teaspoon raw honey or maple syrup (added after heating)
Optional: 1–2 saffron strands for additional ojas support
Instructions
Blend the soaked, peeled almonds with a splash of water until smooth.
Add the almond paste, milk, and water to a small pot over medium heat.
Stir in Brahmi, ghee, cinnamon, and cardamom.
Warm gently for 5–7 minutes, avoiding a full boil to preserve the herb’s potency.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Add honey or maple syrup once warm.
Pour into a mug and sip slowly, ideally in the morning or early afternoon.
