Lifestyle Practices After the Cleanse
Cooling & Calming Breathing Practice
Continue this gentle pranayama after your cleanse to maintain calm, support digestion, and steady the nervous system. Practice it each morning and evening before meditation.
How to Practice
With your right hand, use either your thumb + middle finger or thumb + ring finger—whichever feels natural—to rest lightly on either side of your nose.
Gently close your left nostril and inhale through the right.
At the top of the breath, switch your fingers and exhale through the left nostril.
Inhale again through the left, keeping the right nostril closed.
Switch the plug and exhale through the right.
Continue alternating in this pattern.
Timing & Variations
Practice for 5–10 minutes, 1–2 times per day.
Long, slow breaths calm the mind and soothe Vata.
Shorter, lighter breaths gently energize without overstimulating.
This practice keeps the mind cool, the emotions steady, and the digestive fire balanced as you transition out of cleansing mode.
Self‑Massage (Abhyanga) for Rejuvenation
After the cleanse, Abhyanga becomes a deeply nourishing ritual that rebuilds Ojas, supports lymphatic flow, and grounds the nervous system.
Step 1: Dry Brushing (Garshana)
Before bathing:
Use Garshana Gloves (raw silk) or a dry brush to stimulate circulation and gently exfoliate.
Massage the body toward the heart using long strokes on the limbs and circular motions on the joints.
This awakens the lymphatic system and prepares the skin to receive oil.
Step 2: Warm Oil Massage in the Shower
Use a warm, herbalized Lymphatic Massage Oil to nourish the tissues.
Before (or as soon as you enter) a warm shower, apply the oil generously. Massage toward the heart with long strokes on the limbs and circles on the joints. Give extra attention to lymph‑rich areas: head, neck, chest, abdomen, and feet.
Once the oil is absorbed, continue with shampoo and conditioner. Use minimal soap, focusing only where needed.
Before stepping out, use a wet washcloth to gently remove excess oil.
Finish by applying a light, fresh coat of oil to seal in moisture and support post‑cleanse rejuvenation.
